Aim of the game
The aim of the game is to prevent the other players from bullying you off social media. Players will do this by adding nasty comments to the sensitive and kind-hearted posts you publish. When someone injures you in this way you receive a face-up purple card. If you end up with six purple cards you have been bullied off the internet and the other players win.
However, you have a secret. In order to boost your popularity and increase sympathy you often troll your own posts with nasty comments using a thinly disguised trolling account. If your own comment is chosen as the most hurtful you can prevent yourself getting a purple card. Therefore it is best to be as cruel and unpleasant to yourself as possible; after all, the only cost will be to your mental health.
Grab your friends, sit around in a circle-ish and draw 10 troll cards. Appoint the eldest as the judge, they are the ‘Internet’ and they should wear a silly hat as that’s what the internet does.
The player to the Judge’s left should draw a post card and read out that post bearing their soul to the internet.
Every player, except the judge should select their nastiest troll comment, bound to crush the hopes and dreams of the poster, and hand them to the judge. Even the poster can indulge in a self-troll if they have a card hilarious enough to out smart their friends.
The judge will then read aloud all the troll comments, keeping their authors anonymous and chose the most hurtful card from amongst the internet bile.
That winning comment is then handed to the poster for them to place, face up, in front of them – their own little pile of shame. If the winning troll comment is the poster's own then they avoid having to display the card and it, with all the other comments go into a discard pile - Remember you want to avoid collecting troll posts – to collect 6 means you lose the game.
At the end of the round, and assuming no-one has been knocked out, you place all remaining cards from that round in the discard pile.
You then move the role of internet judge and poster one to the left, the judge becomes the poster and a new player becomes the judge. Every player who played a troll card should select another from the troll pile – replenish the wickedness as each player should always have 10 troll cards in their hand.
Play begins again with the new poster selecting the top post card from the deck and sharing their innermost thoughts with the baying mob.
